The list includes email addresses, investment focus, country information and keyword-related metrics. The list was created on November 2nd, 2022 and last updated on January 11th, 2023.

Mobility is a key factor that makes cities comfortable and attractive for citizens and tourists. Because of constantly evolving new technologies the sector is continuously generating opportunities for start-ups and investors. This article highlights three venture capital investors in the mobility sector from our VC investor list.

1. Motec Ventures (Austria)

Motec Ventures is interested in backing high- and deep tech start-ups in the automotive sector. The company specifically focuses on companies in technology, process and service solutions that shape the future of mobility. One of these businesses is FD Tech, who are developing mobility solutions for the modern world, especially focusing on automated driving functions.

2. Fplus Ventures (USA)

Fplus Ventures is a VC firm that invests in smart transportation that enables easy trips from A to B. Smart technologies are able to predict demand and capacity and can, therefore, improve efficiency and safety. They focus on logistics, sharing, vehicles, information, and mobility. One of their portfolio companies is Garaj Sepeti, a SaaS platform for auto firms and a market place for drivers.

3. Magenta Ventures (Israel)

Magenta Ventures aims to close the gaps in the Israeli tech start-up world between innovation and the market. Thus, Magenta Ventures focuses on Israeli early-stage technology companies in different sectors, including artificial intelligence, fintech, enterprise software, and mobility. HQ is part of their portfolio. They are the largest mobility company for corporate travel in the United States that offer next generation mobility solutions and commuter shuttle options.

Our keyword analysis-based list include the following general columns:

  • Name of the VC fund
  • Country of origin
  • URL
  • E-mail (general)
  • Investment focus (if data available)
  • Corporate VC (yes/no)

The following columns are based on the keyword crawler, which is a Python-based, in-house developed tool that crawls every page for at least 45 seconds to find the respective keywords.

  • total_frequency (e.g.: 2618) – total counted occurrences of keywords on the VC website
  • average_keyword_rate (e.g. 0.04) – average rate of keyword occurrences per subpage in relation with total number of words
  • most_common_keyword (e.g. „mobility“) – keyword that was counted the most often on respective VC website
  • most_common_keyword_frequency (e.g. 4956) – number of times the most common keyword was counted
  • sub_url_highest_rate (e.g. – sub url with the highest number of found keywords
  • highest_rate (e.g. 0.05) – highest keyword rate per subpage
  • frequency_per_keyword: {‘mobility’: 2183, ‘transportation’: 435, ‘micromobility’: 0, ‘carsharing’: 0, ‘ridesharing’: 0} – dictionary of number of keyword occurrences per keyword

Our keyword crawler analyzed more than 2,500 venture capital funds regarding mobility investment keywords. We found out that 36.9 % of the global VC funds mention mobility.

Focus on mobility

This bar chart shows the most important keywords from our keyword search, however most companies use the keyword mobility to describe their vc company focus. Additionally, the terms transportation and micromobility are used whereas carsharing and ridesharing are not as frequent.
