The food sector in France is renowned for its emphasis on quality and variety, with a strong focus on locally sourced and artisanal products.
In this article, we are introducing three interesting food-focused private equity funds from our keyword crawler-based food private equity investors list.

1. Argos Wityu (Paris)

Argos Wityu, a European private equity firm with over 30 years of experience, specializes in enhancing the performance of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. It provides support for management teams and prioritizes complex transactions that promote transformation and growth. Argos Wityu manages more than €1.4 billion in assets and has assisted over 90 businesses. One significant investment was made in La Compagnie des Desserts, a preeminent supplier of high-quality, frozen desserts for the food service industry.

2. PAI Partners (Paris)

PAI Partners, a leading European private equity firm headquartered in Paris, has made several substantial investments in the food industry. Their investments represent a wide range of the food sector and demonstrate their approach to acquiring companies with strong market positions and increasing their value. In February 2023, PAI Partners acquired La Compagnie des Desserts, a food company renowned for its desserts, from Cerea Partenaire and Argos Wityu. This acquisition marked PAI Partners’ 17th food sector transaction and their 38th transaction in France.

3. Abénex (Paris)

Abénex, a private equity firm based in Paris, recently has been involved in the food sector. On December 1, 2018, Abénex acquired Tartefrais, making it their third transaction in the food sector. Tartefrais specializes in producing pastries and fresh cakes which they supply to supermarkets, hypermarkets, and out-of-home catering networks. The company is renowned for its quality which it maintains by using premium raw materials sourced from France and employing over 50 pastry chefs in its production processes.
