Recently, the demand for plant-based meat, dairy, and egg alternatives has skyrocketed and more sustainable replacements are developed and created daily. In this article, we highlight three interesting vegan food venture capital investors from our keyword-crawler based venture capital investor list.
1. Veg Capital (UK)
Veg Capital is a UK based company that fund early-stage companies which aim to replace animal products with plant-based alternatives in the food system. In particular, the company invests in meat, dairy, egg, and seafood replacements for conventional animal products. Their portfolio includes the company VFC, that work on creating inexpensive meat alternatives, and Mighty Pea, which create a sustainable and dairy-free alternative to milk.
2. Green Generation Management GmbH (Germany)
The Green Generation Fund, located in Germany, focuses on a sector-based investment strategy in the food technology area, namely Food Tech, Health and Personal Care, and Green Tech. The company aims to invest in early-stage businesses such as Biomilq, a nutritionally equivalent alternative to breastmilk and animal product-based infant formula and one • five, that develop fibre-based packaging solutions.
3. New Money Ventures (USA)
New Money Ventures invests in early-stage and high growth consumer businesses and, additionally, complements the companies with expertise and mentorship. The company aims to prioritize female founded and women-led organizations. Their investments are divers and range from Hi Note, a plant-based seasoning company to Joyo Tea, a tea company inspired by Ayurvedic traditions.

Our keyword analysis-based list include the following general columns:
- Name of the VC fund
- Country of origin
- URL
- E-mail (general)
- Investment focus (if data available)
- Corporate VCÂ (yes/no)
The following columns are based on the keyword crawler, which is a Python-based, in-house developed tool that crawls every page for at least 45 seconds to find the respective keywords.
- total_frequency (e.g.: 16) – total counted occurrences of keywords on the VC website
- average_keyword_rate (e.g. 0.008) – average rate of keyword occurrences per subpage in relation with total number of words
- most_common_keyword (e.g. „vegan“) – keyword that was counted the most often on respective VC website
- most_common_keyword_frequency (e.g. 36) – number of times the most common keyword was counted
- sub_url_highest_rate (e.g. https://vegcapital.co.uk/portfolio/) – sub url with the highest number of found keywords
- highest_rate (e.g. 0.04) – highest keyword rate per subpage

Percentage of VC funds covering vegan food investments
This piechart shows that only 3.4 % of the VC investors of our global venture capital list currently mention keywords regarding the topic of veganism and vegan food. Looking to recent developments, the numbers should increase and will then be updated periodically in our lists.

Vegan, meatless, and tofu are the most common keywords in the list
This bar chart shows that the keywords vegan, meatless, and tofu form the majority of keyword-occurences, with vegan being the most common. Almost no company mentioned the other keywords (plant based, meat alternative, soy meat, etc.) on their sites.
