The financial sector is one of the most influential and important parts of our economy and, with the growth of digitalization, the number of financial technology companies (better known as Fintech) has increased significantly. This article highlights three interesting fintech venture capital investors from our curated Fintech VC funds list.
1. Mendoza Ventures (USA)
Mendoza Ventures is a venture capital fund that is mostly interested in fintech, AI, and cybersecurity. They have an actively managed approach and invest in early and growth stage companies. The company also wants to improve diversity, therefore, 75 % of their portfolio consists of immigrant-, people of colour-, and women-led start-ups. One of these companies is Finch, an application that allows flexible investing.
2. Varanium NexGen (India)
Varanium NexGen is India’s first venture capital fund focused on fintech and was established in 2019. They are interested in start-ups with early revenues and initial ticket sizes range from 250k to 1.5M USD. The company invested in HomeCapital, a technology platform that provides financial solutions regarding down payments and mortgage finances for homebuyers.
3. Embedded Capital (Germany)
Embedded Capital is an early-stage venture capital company that has significant experience in building relevant financial platforms that set a foundation for future fintech companies. Now, they invest in fintech companies that have innovative and revolutionary business ideas. One of these companies is Nelly, a platform that enables digital contract signing and direct payments.

Our keyword analysis-based list include the following general columns:
- Name of the VC fund
- Country of origin
- URL
- E-mail (general)
- Investment focus (if data available)
- Corporate VC (yes/no)
The following columns are based on the keyword crawler, which is a Python-based, in-house developed tool that crawls every page for at least 45 seconds to find the respective keywords.
- total_frequency (e.g.: 3420) – total counted occurrences of keywords on the VC website
- average_keyword_rate (e.g. 0.02) – average rate of keyword occurrences per subpage in relation with total number of words
- most_common_keyword (e.g. „fintech“) – keyword that was counted the most often on respective VC website
- most_common_keyword_frequency (e.g. 4832) – number of times the most common keyword was counted
- sub_url_highest_rate (e.g. https://mendoza-ventures.com/) – sub url with the highest number of found keywords
- highest_rate (e.g. 0.066) – highest keyword rate per subpage
- frequency_per_keyword: {‘fintech’: 4832, ‘fintechs’: 0, ‘neobank’: 0} – dictionary of number of keyword occurrences per keyword

Percentage of VC funds that invest in Fintech
Our keyword crawler analyzed more than 2,500 venture capital funds regarding fintech investment keywords. We found out that 39.9 % of the global VC funds mention fintech.
