The European software market is expanding quickly, also driven through novel artificial intelligence-based applications and the uprise of cloud businesses. In this article, we are introducing three interesting software-focused private equity funds from our list.

1. Gro Capital (Copenhagen, Denmark)

GRO Capital is a Copenhagen-based investor that focuses on B2B software comapnies. The firm, who also operates an office in London, has invested in different verticals within the software industry, ranging from cybersecurity, to ecomerrce management as well as vertical software. Past examples include Paligo (which offers a cloud-based system for technical documentation), Promon (a next-gen cybersecurity solution) or Tacton (SaaS- Smart Commerce solution).

2. Main Capital Partners (The Hague, Netherlands)

The Dutch-headquartered private equity fund MAIN Capital Partners operates offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Stockholm and the United States. The firm invests between €10-50M in software businesses. Past investments include WeFact, Certwell, vendre or timeplan. MAIN invested in Aalborg-based software firm timeplan in 2022. The firm is a software vendor for workforce management solutions.

3. BID Equity (Hamburg, Germany)

Also German private equity investor BID Equity is focused on software companies. The Hamburg-based investor has so far invested in over 10 companies. One portfolio companies is Kobold, that works on digitalization solutions for the construction industry. Another investment, myneva, works on software solutions for stationary nursing homes.

This list is based on our sophisticated keyword crawler technology. We crawled the websites of all private equity funds in our European private equity database for the keyword “software“. We crawled every website for at least 60 seconds. The offered list includes all PE funds in Europe that mentioned the keywords for at least one time. The list includes detailed keyword statistics, e.g. the number of keyword occurrences, which keyword occurred how often, where most keywords where found, etc. Thereby, it helps you to identify the most relevant investors in the respective vertical.
